Harvest, distill and create
In this two-day masterclass, on Friday 19 July and Saturday 20 July 2024, you will be taken on a "lavender journey". In a beautiful nature reserve in the north of the Netherlands, we will harvest lavender together and distill it into essential oil and hydrosol in my copper alembic.
Experience, information and inspiration alternate. From harvest to production, from plant to essential oil, from first aid to meditation, from flower to food and so much more. You will discover, taste, smell and experience how lavender can enrich your body, mind and soul. In these two days, all your senses will be touched.
After this Masterclass, you will know everything about the lavender plant, its fragrant products and essence. Will Buitenkamp of Dragende Natuur and Joanne Klein Wolterink of AromaWise take you on this voyage of discovery based on their passion and experiences.
Lavender, the blue-purple wonder, blooming in mid-summer, is full of stories and wisdom. This spicy flower touches all your senses and its essential oil and hydrosol are there to enrich your body, mind and soul..
What we will do
On the first day, we will harvest organic lavender from Will's garden. Growing different lavender varieties with its divine fragrance has been a passion of hers for years.
As an aromatherapist, she knows all there is to know about each lavender variety and the use of essential oils, whether therapeutic, culinary or creative. In a practical way, she lets the soul of the plant deeply enter you.
After the harvest, we will distil together in Joanne's copper kettle at a beautiful nature spot. Since childhood, "capturing" fragrances from Mother Nature has been a passion of hers. You will join in and see how the scent is "captured" from the lavender. The first drop, which appears from the cauldron through all kinds of natural processes, is an experience to remember. The alchemist in you is touched.
As an aromatherapist, alchemist and scent developer, Joanne takes you on a journey into the story of each plant and each scent. Thus, experiencing the essential oil and hydrosol becomes a connection from soul to soul.
The second day will be a day where all your senses will be engaged. We will distribute and experience the products created in the distillation process. You will learn all the ins and outs about essential oil and hydrosol. Lavender will be enjoyed in teas and snacks. And you will make care products for a lavender treatment.
A day full of creativity, fragrance experience and fragrance meditation to fulfil your whole being. At the end of the day, you will know All about lavendel All about lavender and how to apply this knowledge in your daily life or in your therapeutic practice.
Essential oil and lavender hydrolate, the homemade creations and, of course, an experience to remember, go home with you.
Practical info
This unique experience will take place on Friday 19 July and Saturday 20 July 2024 from approximately 9am-17pm.
We will start by harvesting in Will's garden before heading together to the Heemtuin in Muntendam where the copper kettle will be ready.
We provide coffee, tea, water, refreshments and lunch.
The fee for this master class is € 395, including food, drinks and materials.
After registration, you will receive an invoice and once payment is received you will receive confirmation of participation and the latest important information.
